Capstone 4: Systems Designer
Explain
Teacher analysis and interpretation of indicators of student growth and performance are now a part of the culture:
What technology tools can be used to create meaningful dialogue around data? As an instructional leader, what tools and resources are available to support your efforts to become a digital age culture?
- Charting of individual student, subgroup, or whole class performance
- Pre- and post-assessments
- Summative testing
- Progress monitoring with formative checks for understanding

Evaluation & Assessment: T3PD Model

In Thing 17: Evaluation & Assessment of the 21Things for the 21st Century Educator (21things4teachers), educators learn about data privacy (FERPA/HIPAA), data types, and the T3PD Model.
With the goal of gathering data to inform our systemic improvement efforts, examine the frames of the T3PD Model for data collection and the tools and resources for each. Review how progress monitoring, perception, achievement, and demographic frames and the tools/resources for each can be used to inform your efforts.

Consider one of the ISTE 14 Essential Conditions, Future Ready schools, or another area of emphasis in your local systemic improvement efforts. What data can you gather surrounding systemic improvement? Let's dig deeper with further explanation about the tools and resources available for data collection.
Next, complete the following:
- Select either 1) one of the ISTE 14 Essential Conditions; 2) one of the gears from the Future Ready schools, or 3) another approved initiative to inform your systemic school improvement efforts.
- Choose one of the frames to model/demonstrate the use of the data collection using tools found in the T3PD model with staff.
- Examples might include: gathering perception data from staff about a 1:1 initiative, or gathering demographic data about Internet availability and use at home
- Gather data using the tools/resources within the frame and be prepared to share/report out with staff and/or your instructor.
- Prepare to engage in Data Driven Dialogue in the next step, "Elaborate"
Be prepared to describe what element you selected and the tools or resources you used for data collection. Next, dig deeper for engaging staff in data driven dialogue surrounding your findings.
