Challenge 2: Personalized & Engaging Experiences

Mixing both face-to-face and online instruction is an emerging trend, with a variety of models explained by the Christensen Institute and further definied in Thing 20: Blended or Flipped Learning.
After selecting a model, educators look to personalize the learning experiences by providing options for students to advance at their own pace. In Thing 15: Digital Classroom Management educators learn about badges, credentialing, or incentives to reinforce effort and provide recognition. You will also note the section on device management and one-to-one initiatives which you will explore in Challenge 4.
Share ideas with staff about how to make lessons interactive and engaging.  Thing 11: Content Area Tools and Thing 12: Interactives provide valuable resources for spicing up a lesson for students.

Thoughtfully consider the impact of these resources on your implementation of a Digital Age Learning Culture and the steps you may need to take. Next, you will examine Challenge 3.
